Having long and dramatic history, Lviv is reasonably considered to be one of the leading centres of the country's cultural and spiritual life, as well as national liberation movement. Having suffered from the foreign invaders, national oppression, betrayal of local nobility, it became the first candle of national Renaissance. These dramatic events left profound marks on Lviv's streets and squares that are considered to be real masterpieces of medieval and Renaissance architecture. The ensemble of Old Town with Market Square, the Jewish town, and the Mitskevich Square are certainly worth visiting and admiring! |

Famous for its warm hospitality, the city is rich in colourful national traditions of many people. Its Ivan Franko Opera House built in Vienna Style is considered to be one of the most beautiful in Ukraine. Among other places of interest for tourists are the Museum of Ethnography, the National Architecture Museum, and historical places of Jewish culture. |
