Departing
from the pier, tourists will visit all historical places and museums which
are considered a "must see" for all visitors to this area.
Highlights of the tour will include the famous Crimean battlefield,
Malakhov Kurgan, where the defence of Sebastopol took place, as well as
"Panorama".
A museum dedicated to the Crimean War which houses a huge memorial mural
by the famous artist Rubo.
The panorama depicts the storm of Sebastopol fortifications by
Anglo-French troops in June 1855.
Close to the Panorama the famous fourth bastion is situated. Leo Tolstoy
was among the defenders of it.
During the city tour around Sebastopol, tourists will have an opportunity
to look around the main architectural and historical places of the city:
the Count Berth, described by Leo Tolstoy in his "Sebastopol
stories"; Nakhimov Prospect, the main street of the town, which was
completely restored after World War II; as well as monuments to Admirals
Nakhimov, Kazarsky, and a monument to the defenders of Sebastopol. |
